How to claim Kindergeld

Kindergeld is about €250 per child per month. If you live and work in Germany, you probably qualify.

Requirements

• Residence and tax liability in Germany.
• Children under 18 (or up to 25 if studying).
• Steuer-ID for you and each child.

How to apply

1. Fill in the Familienkasse Kindergeldantrag.
2. Attach the Anlage Kind per child.
3. Add birth certificate and Steuer-IDs.

Deadlines

Retroactive claims only go back 6 months — don’t wait.
